Bio
Natasha Kinsey
Bay of Islands, Far North, NZ.
"I think watching my mother sing and play the ukelele when I was little really lit a spark for me. She use to sing Tongan songs and dance with my aunty in our living room while it snowed outside. Such a juxtaposition in small town Sooke of British Columbia, Canada."
Singing has always been an interest from a young age performing Disney songs at school recitals, singing Tongan songs in a family-run Polynesian dance show and competing in a Fijian tv show called "Join the Band" at 16.
It wasn't until Natasha picked up a guitar that she began to dabble in open mic nights and solo performances across Auckland city in her early 20's. Joining the band "Kings of Exile" in 2011 was when the pendulum shifted and not long after Natasha joined up with singer/songwriter/pianist Dan Doyle in 2013 forming "Wiekko".
In the background Natasha works as a palliative Care nurse, is busy raising a very energetic 8 year old, coaches Crossfit at her local box in town and is busy working on her long-awaited solo debut album.
Currently, Natasha plays at regular local haunts in the BOI and is available for private bookings through her Contact page (link below).
